The County is thoroughly repairing and renovating the existing Structural Fire Building as well as constructing an addition. The existing two-story structure was built in 1985 and is constructed of reinforced concrete with beam and masonry bearing walls. The four-story addition will help firefighters simulate battling a blaze in a high-rise building during their training. The project began in 2006 and is near completion.
